Eat St.: TV Show and iPhone App that finds the best street food

A forthcoming TV show called Eat St., has just released an application which will help you find the best street food. The new series is starting in Canada on the Food Network on April 6 and on the Cooking Channel in the US on April 12.

The free application will allow users to find nearby street food vendors by location, popularity and food type. Once a vendor has been chosen users can look through information which includes the vendor’s menu, hours, location, specials, photos, and Twitter page.

Users can even tap the Google Maps image from the vendor’s page, and are then given exact directions to the food truck. The application already has over 2,000 popular food truck locations in 184 cities in North America and Canada.

You can find the best street food in your area in a matter of seconds with three simple taps on the device screen. Later versions of the application will offer a rating system, and integration into Facebook and Twitter. You can see a teaser video of the new TV show below, word of warning though; it will make you feel hungry.

Eat St. is available for owners of the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad on the App Store with iOS 4.0 or later. Find out more information about the show here.
