With the bank holiday weekend fast approaching travelers are becoming more aware of the Easter train disruptions for April 2015. We have been advised again and again to check with your train operator to see if your journey will be affected. However, there is an easier way, and that is by downloading the National Rail app, which recently benefited from an update.
While the changes made will not make much difference to the app overall, it is always better to have the most up-to-date version, as there is less risk of any issues while using it.
Going back to those Easter travel disruptions in the UK, using the National Rail app will allow you to enter your journey in a special section, and in doing so will stay updated with alerts being sent to you if there are any delays or planned maintenance work on the lines that you would normally travel on.
There are also other options available to you for those that do not use the app, such as going onto the Network Rail website, where you are advised about all of the train delays from Good Friday to Easter Monday. They have come up with a dedicated page just for you to plan your journey during these major improvements.
You can also checkout the online journey planner, the latest travel news and also future engineering works by putting in your travel dates. Please remember to allow extra time for your train journey over the Easter Holiday.
