Earth Day 2014 social competition

If you are celebrating Earth Day 2014 in the UK, US or anywhere else in the world today, you should be aware of Google’s fantastic contribution to the annual event which is ongoing as we speak.

Those who are keen to protect the world’s environment and all issues associated with it may want to see how Google are using their strength as a dominant web leader to promote Earth Day in a truly enlightening way.

To give you an example of this, you can firstly head to the Google homepage to see a Earth Day 2014 Google Doodle. That’s just for starters though, as below you’ll find a link which will take you to Google’s main Earth Day hub.

Here, you’ll be greeted with a beautiful montage of Earth Day 2014 pictures that users are submitting to their Google Plus profiles in honor of the event. Google’s Earth Day team are hand picking select images with the #MyBeautifulEarth hashtag.

There’s an element of competition involved as well, as you can see that there is a Earth Day 2014 leaderboard, showing the best pictures with the most social +1s from other Earth Day fans.

Some of the pictures are absolutely breathtaking and incredible, so we recommend you sit back for a few minutes and enjoy some of the finest places on Earth that you perhaps never knew existed.
