E3 past game announcements before 2011 expo

This year’s E3 expo is only a week away now as we look forward to see some new tech and plenty of new games announced. Today we have an article looking at E3 past game announcements before the 2011 expo.

James Gallagher of the PlayStation Blog has looked back at some of the big announcements over the years, and starts off a year after the original PlayStation console was showed to the world. 1996 saw two big names make their debut on the platform with Crash Bandicoot and Lara Croft. A year later saw the much loved Snake and the start of the Metal Gear Solid franchise.

Jump two years forward and the PlayStation 2 made its debut and demonstrated its potential with a demo of Final Fantasy VIII. 2001 was a big year for a collection of quality games including Silent Hill 2, and the hugely successful Grand Theft Auto III.

2003 was the year that Ken Kutaragi gave the world its first proper glimpse of the PSP, with the new handheld grabbing all the headlines. More recently last year we saw the PlayStation Move. For more of the games announced hit the link above.
