E-Fun launches new Nextbook Premium 7 Android 2.3 tablet

More and more tablet PCs are coming onto the market already running the Android 3.0 (and 3.1) Honeycomb operating system these days, including the recently released Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, the 10.1-inch Toshiba Thrive, which as we mentioned in a previous article will be available in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB models, and the smaller 7-inch Acer Iconia Tab A100.

If you don’t mind a tablet running Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS however, then you may just like E-Fun’s newly launched Nextbook Premium 7 tablet. The Nextbook Premium 7 — which is the first model in the company’s Nextbook Premium line — comes with new pre-loaded software including ASTRO File Manager, SlideME Application Manager, OfficeSuite Viewer and the Kobo eBook Store App.

The OfficeSuite Viewer gives Nextbook Premium 7 owners access to important presentations and documents on the go, enabling them to open native DOCX, TXT, DOC, XLS, XLSX, PPT, CSV, PPTX, PPS, PPSX and PDF files and attachments. Meanwhile, the ASTRO File Manager makes it easy for users to do things such as copy, delete, move and rename files on their SD cards.

Those who enjoy reading eBooks might be pleased to know that the E-Fun Nextbook Premium 7 tablet does in fact come with 25 pre-loaded eBooks, although the eBook Store also provides a selection of almost 2 million titles to choose from. The Premium 7 tablet comes with a 7-inch capacitive touch screen display, Flash 10.1 support and is fully upgradable with over-the-air (OTA) update capabilities.

In terms of its specs, the E-Fun Nextbook Premium 7 tablet is powered by a 1GHz processor and includes built-in speakers, a G-sensor and 4GB of built-in flash memory, although it does also come with an SD card slot just in case you want to increase its storage capacity. It also comes with built-in Wi-Fi, allowing users to listen to music, browse the Internet, send and receive emails or even watch YouTube videos.

Other features include a photo viewer, a notepad, a calendar, an alarm clock and an MP3 player, as well as an assortments of games and other fun and useful applications. The E-Fun Nextbook Premium 7 Android 2.3 tablet has an MSRP of $299.99, and is available to purchase from online retailers as from now. You can read more about the Nextbook Premium 7 via the marketwire.com website.

Bought a Nextbook Premium 7 on July 2 at Big Lots. Took it out of the case on July 9 to charge and found the screen shattered: no abuse, no accident. Customer service rep told me the screen is not covered under the warranty and that it can crack just from pushing with a finger too hard. You’ve got to be kidding!!! Does that sound like a company that stands behind its product? A tablet that only lasts for 7 days with gentle use is worthless. Don’t waste your money!

Bought mine last week at Hastings.  They had it on sale with a free case.  I installed the update and I have not had any problems with it.  It is a great little tablet.  It does everything that I want it for, so no complaints.

I got my Nextbook Premium 7 from HSN also. I love it. After ordering I read some reviews and was convinced I was going to be disappointed when it got here. Well I was very pleasantly suprised! The only problems I had with it was my own ignorance about how to operate a tablet and even so all was really easy to figure out. I have now d/l the books through Kobo, Adobe Digital Editions, and just today d/l the Kindle for Android app. I have added several books through all the apps now and what a delight. All works… Read more »

I got mine from HSN as well, and I haven’t had any problems. It doesn’t have charging problems, transferred data from my PC without issues, and it runs fast on my wi-fi.

just got my nextbook premium 7.  I guess HSN got all the defective ones.  I charged the unit overnight, turned it on and in 5 seconds it turned off.  I couldn’t even get into the display settings.  I tried to write a review on HSN but got this message:  Sorry, our records indicate that you have not purchased this item. Only items purchased within the last 180 days may be reviewed and rated. If you feel you have received this message in error, please contact HSN Customer Service at 1.800.933.2887 oremail us.
