DuckTales HD coming soon, Chip n Dale may be next

Forget the Final Fantasy X HD remaster for a second, as it appears that Capcom has well and truly stole Square-Enix’ thunder. Out of nowhere it seems, the developer has just confirmed that they are bringing back DuckTales, with a Duck Tales Remaster that will be out this Summer on Xbox 360, Wii U and PS3.

For those that didn’t have the pleasure of playing the original, we can tell you that it was released back on on the legendary NES in 1989 and developed by Capcom. It was just one of the successful Disney games that Capcom brought out in that period, with the likes of Chip n Dale and Aladdin some of the others that also had huge success.

Whether you remember DuckTales due to the theme or stingy Scrooge Mcduck, the DuckTales game on NES was actually one of the finest platformer games to come out at the time. Capcom has decided to bring it back, with the new HD remaster being developed by WayForward.

As an added bonus, Capcom has confirmed that all of the original voice cast from the DuckTales cartoon will be in the game, including the voice of Scrooge McDuck who is now 94 years of age – amazing. The game won’t just be a straight up remaster though, as it has also been confirmed that new content will be added into the game – including a brand new level entirely towards the end.

The game will be available on the Nintendo Network, PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace sometime this Summer. Make sure you watch the brilliant trailer above for a classic trip down memory lane. Meanwhile, Capcom has also revealed that should DuckTales HD gain popularity, they could follow up with a Chip n Dale HD remaster as well – would you like to see this happen?

Capcom hasn’t been the most popular of companies in recent years, but this is surely a step in the right direction.
