Droid X: Download Froyo Source Now – Hints of Unlock?

We have some good news for Droid X owners now, as months after release, Motorola has finally released the official Android 2.2 Froyo source code for the Droid X. The question is though, what will developers do with it?

As Droid-life suggests, probably not a lot but the fact that the source code is now freely available to download, it might convince some devs to get working on something special for the Droid X.

Droid-Life has even hinted that an unlock method may be worked out for the device, but even with the source code out there, this would be a huge task to accomplish.

If you’re interested in downloading this anyway, you can head to Motorola’s website here for the file. Let us know your thoughts on this. Do you have any desired features that you want to see on the handset? Don’t forget that the device has just been overclocked as well.
