Droid X: Android 2.2 Froyo Update – US Release Time Confirmed

Earlier on we gave you the great news that the official update to Android 2.2 Froyo would finally be on it’s way for the Motorola Droid X. You’ll be pleased to know that we now have a confirmed release time for the update too.

As reported from Droid-Life, we can confirm that Froyo will be going live on your Droid X at 12pm ET, or 9am for those on Pacific Time. To check if the update is available to you after that time, simply head to Settings>About>System Updates.

Just in case you needed a quick refresh on what the ‘official’ update brings, you’ll get Adobe Flash 10.1 Player, Fast-Switching Apps support, Automatic App updates, improvements to Google Maps and much more.

For those of you who wern’t tempted by other alternative methods, are you excited about the update?
