Droid X and Droid 2: How to Overclock to 2GHz – Tutorial

You may have read our earlier reports this week which informed you that the Motorola Droid X and Droid 2 handsets had been successfully overclocked to 1.1Ghz, but it has now been confirmed that the devices can actually be overclocked to 2GHz and above.

You’ll be pleased to know that Droid-life has compiled a lengthy step-by-step tutorial on how you can attempt to overclock your Droid X or Droid 2 handset yourself. Their report proves that the devices can be overclocked to 2Ghz, but this updated report over at BGR has suggested that the handsets can go all the way up to 3GHz as well! – staggering.

However, the process to actually acheive this feat is considered challenging, and Droid-Life even go as far to say that attempting this is ‘risky’. If you’re feeling confident however, the full tutorial is over on their website.

For those of you who do manage to overclock your device, let us know your results afterwards.
