Droid RAZR Verizon pre-orders get ready to start

Earlier today we gave what could be the full retail price for the upcoming Motorola Droid RAZR, which may have not made good reading if you were after a cheaper handset. But for those who are planning on getting the device via a contract, we can tell you that the Motorola Droid RAZR Verizon pre-orders get ready to start.

Early reviews of the handset have been pretty favorable, and now if you plan to get one from Verizon pre-orders begin tomorrow at 8 a.m. Eastern. According to PCMag the handset will be available on a two year contract for $299.99, and currently there is no exact release date but Verizon said the device will ship no later than November 10.

The smart looking smartphone was first revealed last week and will feature a dual-core 1.2GHz processor. It will be Motorola’s fastest and thinnest smartphones so far and only measures 0.28-inch in thickness. It has already been confirmed the new RAZR will launch running Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, but it has been reported the device will be getting its share of Ice Cream Sandwich early next year.

Verizon have also confirmed that NFL Mobile will be free for 4G LTE customers until the end of this year. There will also be some good accessory options for the Motorola RAZR, which include an enhanced 14-inch laptop dock. The handset is a WebTop device that means when connected to the appropriate dock, it turns into a desktop or laptop PC running Firefox.
