HSBC online banking website or app problems

If you have an active lifestyle and rely on the HSBC Mobile Banking app to be working at all times, this is the page where you can come to report HSBC online internet banking problems.

HSBC has been known to have outages from time to time when users suddenly can’t log into HSBC online banking – bringing the desktop and mobile banking services down at the same time. When trying to move money around quickly in and outside of the UK, these outages seem to happen at the worst time.

    On my android when I access the app it says update required. When I try and download the update it says “this app is not compatible with this device” so now I am unable to access my bank account please help !

      Me too! Has anyone else spoken to HSBC? One of their help desk tried to fix this but couldn’t. Any ideas? Seems to be a specific galaxy problem.

      Exactly the same thing has just happened to me. Have been running the HSBC App on a Galaxy SM-T800 for years with no issues and suddenly it tells me it needs an update. Could not update and so uninstalled and then it says that the app is not compatible with the device. AARGH !

      Has anyone made any progress?

      Like my situation, blocked for a update I couldn’t update on Friday, miraculously came back on Sunday but blocked again Sunday expected it might return today but sadly gone for good this time it seems, very strange. Is there any way to opt out of this banking app completely and go back to just pins and passwords online banking, at least you knew you could log on as long as you remembered all your security passes?

    Elderly father has an older iPad and the app now say it needs updating, BUT you can’t because the app needs the newer OS!
    Can’t use internet banking now as the app was there you got the security key! Really bad HSBC never thought of this…

    What the hell is going on with the HSBC. I’ve had trouble now for three months and still there is no correction. I thought it was just me and my computer, but it can’t be because many others are having the same problem. What the hell is GSA error anyway?? If the HSBC doesn’t get it sorted soon, I can see members moving to other banks. Get your fingers out HSBC and get it sorted, quick.

    Seems common acoss UK this morning if you refer to Downdetector site as I get “GSA/Error” when trying to log onto HSBC Internet Banking on PC. Hopefully HSBC will eventually “cotton on”(and no clearing cookies and cache their usual answer does NOT solve it and it didn’t solve it on the previous times either. Last time it was linked to update in Chrome and other browsers were accessing ok but not this time it seems ?

    I received a message from HSBC which is urgent to update my information regarding tax. I was about to send the updated information and I got error that the browser is not working. On my mobile is still working but I cannot send a message to give the required information. Also my account has been frozen and I cannot under any funds. What is to be done?

    Unfortunately, I think its time to consider another bank. Clearly not either moving with times, are unable to do so, or are finding the transition difficult. Either way I dont think ill be hanging around for it.

    Business Online Banking- Session terminates after a few minutes saying you have a concurrent login session (there isn’t), in Chrome. Hows error message “Your Session has been terminated as another logon has been made.(mlogon1).

    If you haven’t just logged on again, please contact the helpdesk urgently on UK : 0345 602 2014 or overseas : 44 (0) 1792 496 941.

    Opening hours are from 8am to 10 pm , 7 days a week. To help us continually improve our service and in the interests of security, we may monitor and/or record your telephone call”

    Calling Helpline says thjey are aware of the problem- recent upgrade mean there is cookie conflict, and suggests clearing your cookies. (Unacceptable, as clearing your cookies interferes with the utility of all other sites you use)- even doing this does not resolve the problem. Site works in Firefox. indicative of a shoddy upgrade.

    This problem has existed for a week now with no resolution.

      Keny, your right, and it seems when one lives overseas that the telphone is the only contact. Very expensive mind but the only way to make contact with HSBC. I’ve tried sending emails and letters but no joy. Any more ideas??

    I have downloaded the app today several times to start online banking and it still will not work, even the hsbc customer service chap is baffled and could not get through to it . Very frustrating.

    Opened a new savings account last week and attempted to register an online account. After choosing security questions, about halfway through the process, an error message popped up. Since then, if I try to login it states my username is unknown. If I try to register for the online account again, it says “user already registered”. I have spent hours on the phone and my case has been forwarded to IT and now I have been waiting for days hoping they will fix it. It is stressful because I had a large some of money transferred to open the account and I can’t even get online to see if my money is there. Very frustrating.

    I haven’t been able to make a check deposit on my app for over a year now. It always freezes after trying to take a photo of the back of the check. I have tried uninstalling, deleting the system cache, as well as the app saved data. Nothing works. I refuse to do a factory reset of my phone for this.

    If HSBC are experiencing online banking issues, would it not be nice to email the customers effected to tell them? I know the policy about not sending emails but in some cases it would be useful. I rely on this facility as I am unable to get out so do all of my banking online. I only found out as I was trying to pay a bill and couldn’t get in. I have paid it by debit card so no huge worries. Just frustrating. I am not a moaner so do not usually worry as I understand things can go wrong which is more than I can say for some !!

    after the last update on 12/7/2018 the biometrics stopped working on my devices, kept getting the “soft data not matching” message and needed to login with my pw instead so that’s a bummer… I think I need a separate security code generator fob to able to activate the touch feature IDK. But I’m not willing to risk screwing-up my working app & have to reset everything again

    on my iPhone 6 i can only load app using 4G with wifi turned off. my wife has iPhone SE which is an earlier model and she has no problems at all operating out of the same house as me. HSBC maintain the problem is not their’s but judging by comments here they’re wrong!

    App has never worked reliably for me. Currently it keeps telling me that my wifi signal is unstable. Everything else, including other online banking providers work fine. AVG tests show superb, stable up and download speeds. Funny how these problems only affect HSBC UK but still it’s a fault with my WiFi????

    Not working for my iPhone on around 8/13, Android ok. The app disappeared as soon as it load, another iPhone gives network error. Both iPhones use iOS beta 12.

    Hi, tis me again. Well having installed and reinstalled the HSBC app again as I have been told the reason the app does not work is it’s my connection (no) as my Wi-Fi & 4G connection work fine for everything else but their app. As I run my own business I have now wasted over two hours trying to get this working. Going to claim my mobile charges back from HSBC. Why are they not being honest and own up to the fact that the updated app is a complete mess. Funny how my business app with them works fine. Why did they just leave the old app as it was.

      Believe it or not, I overcame the problem by turning off wifi on iPhone 6 and accessing via 4G telephone network. Crazy! Would have thought it would be other way around.
      My wife has earlier iPhone SE and has no problem at all.

    The old app now no longer works. I downloaded the new app but all I get is a screen saying I will need my username and password etc but then that’s it, there’s nothing to click on and it just sticks on that screen. This as really peeved me off as I rely on my mobile app to work.

    HSBC online banking via computer – my password is daugher’s middle name. I CAN remember this and know how to spell it. I can key in 6 digit number without making mistakes. BUT HSBC is telling me I have keyed it in 3 times wrong and these keeps happening. No, I am not making a mistake, as I am keying in really slowly and carefully (and Apple shows your password for a second so you can see it is correct) Is anyone else getting this problem all the time? I have to keep phoning the bank, resetting my password, then 10 minutes later same again !! Really great service – I am running out of passwords I can remember and now have to note them all in my phone!!

I go to my computer and asked to log on without key (which generates from the App) then it says we need another level of security so asks for my key number !!     I HAVE 3 BANKING APPS & HSBC IS BY FAR THE WORST APP I HAVE EVER USED. IT TAKES 10 TIMES LONGER TO LOAD (IF & WHEN IT DECIDES TO LOAD) & ONCE YOU MANAGE TO GET ON IT IS SO SLOW & COMPLICATED TO USE. IT IS SOMETIMES QUICKER TO DRIVE TO THE TOWN CENTRE & GO TO THE BANK

    Is anyone having problems with the new hsbc website? The layout to me is atrocious! sub menus are hard to navigate and sometimes disappear whilst trying to select items on them, the layout at first looks ‘nice’ but in reality almost half of the screen is taken up by a ‘useless’ background ‘scene’ where the main menus ‘float’ on top and have a tendency move about when selecting items. I contacted hsbc and voiced my concern and frustration asking if i could revert back to the original but they said it wasn’t possible and they would pass my comments on!

    My husband has been trying to get in to his HSBC account since yesterday 13.9.17 and has been met with a variety of GSA error screens. HSBC staff on the phone helpful but basically he can’t get in to his account. He’s disabled so the alternative of visiting a branch is not realistic, given HSBC recently closed our local branch and its now a round trip of 26 miles to visit a branch. AWFUL SERVICE.

My experience of the HSBC app over the last few years is that logging in and viewing balances often received error messages.

    Hsbc USA mobile banking is terrible. Almost every time I try to deposit a check I get an error message salting the system is temporarily down. Sometime I have to try multiple times so annoying. This is April 10 2017 but I happens weekly for me. Get it together Hsbc.

    Keep getting an error message “The details you have entered do not appear to match our records” whilst trying to log-on the website. My details have not changed since I last logged-on.

    Been using my banking online on my desktop quite happily for a few years now ,using windows vista system ,now ,since beginning of November it goes through banking I’d ,memorable question ,loads my key card generated number then nothing ,just a grey background with a white rectangle box with a wheel endlessly going round .
    Everything working on my laptop but like the bigger screen format .
