Is 4chan down? Problems

The 4chan website is one of the most basic discussion forums online, but its following love freedom of speech and the way this imageboard works with anonymous posting. When 4chan servers are down you will likely see a “retry for live version” message, which is due to the website using DNS services to help when 4chan is not working.

You can access pages in the offline mode, but then again many services won’t work and you will get errors posting to 4chan. If server problems are ongoing today, our editors will post updates and the Product Reviews community also list details in regard to outages.

Is 4chan down on Monday December 9, 2019? If there’s problems today, then let us know and what errors you are seeing. Also, list the board name in case there’s downtime with certain boards rather than the total website.

    Today 4chan has been shut down HARD. Normally when it’s rendered unavailable, the message forums are frozen, so if some celebrity or government hires hackers to take down 4chan for a message someone posted, the offending message ends up lasting even longer than it normally would – a simple and elegant trick that strongly discourages such suppression.

    Today, not only are the message forums frozen, but every single message on the controversial /pol/ board was erased completely. Someone must have posted something so hot that the deep state got serious about taking it down.

    Strangely, both 4chan and 8chan give me “Connection error” when trying to post from Safari in iOS or OS X in 10.13.4, the update that was released yesterday. Opera works, and I assume all other browsers work, too. Just not Safari. BOTH sites, which don’t use the same software. I don’t get it.

    Those sites really are useless nowadays, they should add a cloudware (etc.) filter or something.

    Not sure if 4chan is under high traffic, as it’s loading really slow. Page takes ages to load in many browsers.

    I’m getting the retry for live version message again, which is related to cloud backups. Looks like 4chan is down once again, any idea when the servers will be back today?

    4chan always going down, it’s been having issues for about 2 hours today so far. No status updates on their Twitter either, glad we can see places like this for knowing we are not alone and others see 4chan down too.
