The Google homepage has been in the news a lot this last week with the Pac-man Doodle being available to play for 48 hours. Now the homepage is showcasing an art design that was chosen as the winner for Google’s 2010 Doodle 4 Google Contest.
Blogs.babble.com is reporting the competition had over 33,000 entries from students in the twelfth grade, down to entries from kindergarten. The winning entry was from 9 year old Makenzie Melton, with a drawing of a rainforest habitat.
When questioned about her artwork she said that the”rainforest is in danger and it is not fair to the plants and animals. I love everything except spiders and snakes, but I would still save them.” The design will be running for 24 hours on May 27.
She will also get in addition of having her work displayed for milions to see a netbook computer, a $25,000 grant for a computer lab at her school, and a $15,000 college scholarship.
