Does the Rage Uprising trailer impress you enough to buy the game?

Despite knowing about RAGE for a fairly long time now, games developer Bethesda has put out a brand new trailer entitled ‘Uprising,’ that for the first time gives us a glimpse into the plot of the futuristic shooter, but is it enough to impress you to purchase the game?

As an added incentive, Bethesda has said that if you pre-order RAGE now, you will recieve a free upgrade to the Anarchy Edition which will come with a blood-filled vial of added extras including two new exclusive weapons which are the Double Barrel Shotgun and the Fist of RAGE. A replacement buggy called the Rat Rod Buggy, that replaces the standard one and the Crimson Elite Armor is also included which will give you extra defence.

Details about RAGE’s plot have been available for some time, but up until now Bethesda has only shown us partial gameplay footage. What ‘Uprising’ brings is a far more in depth view of some of the cinematic’s involved in this gruesome, mature, blood bathed shooter.

In case you forgot what the game centres around then we will give you a quick recap: –

RAGE centers around a character who awakens from an Ark, a pod intended to preserve human life in the event of the Apocalypse, to find the world turned into a ravaged wasteland. Desperate survivors cling together in broken down shanty towns, mutants are running amok, and a military presence known as The Authority is trying to dominate what remains with brute force. Our character has no memory of events before entering the Ark, and soon gets drawn into a battle being waged by resistance fighters against The Authority.

Our overall consensus is that the game does look like a very good attempt at a futuristic shooter, although it suffers from not being entirely unique in its ideas. Fighting the ‘Authorities’ as the ‘Resistance’ sounds like they didn’t put much thought into the persona of the separate groups, but saying that, the story does look quite appetizing.

Check out the new ‘Uprising’ trailer below and let us know your thoughts on RAGE. Have you been persuaded yet?

RAGE will be available to buy from October 7 2011.
