Diablo 4 release dependent on Reaper reviews

Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls was released last night and its success could very well determine whether Blizzard keeps adding new content to this version of the game, or if they will start work on the next game in the franchise, Diablo 4. The developer has already said that content updates for Reaper is a given, but beyond that, who knows.

Reaper of Souls is the next big expansion for Diablo 3 and with Blizzard still uncertain as to which direction to go in, we have to wonder if they are waiting to see what the reviews for Reaper are before making any decisions?

Having said that, Blizzard has put a huge importance on community feedback, so it is important for you to share your views on Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls. It’s this kind of feedback that could help them decide if more expansion packs or another sequel is the right direction to go in.

It is Blizzard’s hope to convince gamers that they do listen, and giving them the power to decide the next step for Diablo is certainly proof of that.

In an interview with VideoGamer, Blizzard’s Alex Mayberry has said the team has their short-term work already planned, but as yet those long-term plans have yet to be decided. This next few months will be very important for Blizzard and Diablo fans because after that period we should have a greater understanding as to its future.

Personally, we feel as though Diablo 4 is still too far away considering the massive gap between D2 and D3, and so it is more likely that Blizzard will concentrate on more Diablo 3 expansion packs.
