Devs offer walkthrough of SimCity: Worlds of Tomorrow

The lead designer of the SimCity: Worlds of Tomorrow expansion pack has released a developer walkthrough, where we get to learn all about the new features coming to the latest version of the game. We see how you are able to create your very own future cities, which is done by advancing the technologies within your city and then transform is infrastructure.

One thing that is pointed out to us in this Devs walkthrough of SimCity: Worlds of Tomorrow is how many of the technology ideas are in research today — so not as far-fetched as you first thought. We get to see three cities that the lead developer has been working on.

Not long into the video we get to see the first SimCity: Worlds of Tomorrow city created by the developer, which holds the Academy. This is the research hub of the region, and we find it interesting how a panel comes up to show all the technology the facility can research.

Those marked in green are complete, but all these can only be used when connected to Control Net, which allows the buildings to operate without workers. However, they need to connect to a wireless signal that radiates out from the Academy.

It is not all about advanced technology though, as resources are also of huge importance, which we get to see in the developer’s second city. The income from these resources help to fund the insatiable need to develop technology.

His third city is where his Sims live, as they cannot stay in the other two because these are work places, and the second is too polluted. The video certainly offers some great insight, and so we ask you to watch it in its entirety.
