If you try and play Call of Duty Advanced Warfare online today, then you will receive an error message explaining the COD Advanced Warfare service is not available at this time and to please try again later. This is due to PSN and Xbox Live being down today during a long DDOS attack.
You can see the Advanced Warfare error seen on a PS4 within the screenshot below, although this isn’t thanks to Call of Duty servers being down, but rather the PlayStation Network is offline as a whole.
It is not only PSN, as we reported earlier about Xbox Live going down on December 25th thanks to the same attack.
If you are wondering what Sledgehammer Games is doing to let players get online in multiplayer, then you should know this problem is out of their hands. In fact, the official @SHGames channel on Twitter has left direction for its followers in the last 30 minutes.
The update from Sledgehammer Games can be seen within the two tweets below, which direct Xbox Live and PSN users to official status pages for connectivity problems.

How has the outage with COD Advanced Warfare and PSN/Xbox online play changed your Christmas Day? It looks like blame can be found at the new Lizard Squad Twitter account, as mentioned in our earlier article with credit being given on the said account.
