Destiny release date with PS4 beta joy

The moment you have all been waiting for has arrived. We were expecting this information to be revealed at the Spike VGX awards, but Bungie has surprised us early. The Destiny release date has been revealed and we’re pleased to say it is going to be a worldwide launch on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles.

Without further ado, we can confirm that Destiny will be launching on September 9, 2014. This is a worldwide date across all platforms, meaning gamers in Europe will not have to endure the usual wait when games are released in the US first.

The date was revealed by Bungie, along with this fantastic teaser image which we’ve included below.

On top of the launch date news, we can tell you that the Destiny beta release date has been pinpointed to a date in Summer 2014 as well. Remember we told you here during Sony’s All Access PS4 event that Bungie had reached a deal with Sony to ensure that the beta releases on PS4 and PS3 first.

With these key dates now established, we can finally countdown to September 9 and to what is surely going to be one of the games of 2014. Give us your reaction to the date and Summer beta launch. Do you think it is ‘pointless’ to buy this game on PS3, Xbox 360?
