Dell Venue Specs: Android Thunder in Disguise?

A few days ago we informed you that a new piece of Dell hardware was on the way, one which would be similar to the Dell Venue Pro, but would be running Android OS instead of Windows Phone 7.

As Engadget reports, it looks like that unit is now starting to appear in the limelight, as the device has just appeared on the FCC website.

Interestingly, it is being called the Dell Venue, and is thought to be the same unit which had the prototype name ‘Thunder’ a few months ago. The device will feature the same 4.1-inch AMOLED display seen on the Venue Pro, but the Android version will come with a full touchscreen display, rather than the portrait slide-out QWERTY seen on the Venue Pro.

We’re not sure what Android OS the Venue will be rocking, but it’s probably safe to assume that it will be Froyo and not Eclair. Will we see it before the end of 2010 though? – Hopefully.

Let us know your thoughts on this. There is an early review and video of the Dell Thunder here.
