Dell Inspiron 17, 15 5000 Series laptop review for Non-Touch

If you are looking to buy a new laptop this month and have one eye on potential discounts, two models which you will be interested in come courtesy of Dell. With this in mind, we now take a look at a Dell Inspiron 17, 15 5000 Series laptop Non-Touch review to see if these popular models are worth spending your hard-earned cash on.

Dell laptops are obviously very popular at this time of the year. We have previously spoken about some of Dells new All-in-one units that are going for a discount, but now we take a look at two sizes of the same Dell Inspiron 5000 Series, both of which come with some very good hardware.

Starting with the Dell Inspiron 15 5000 Series laptop specs for the Non-Touch version, as this model comes with a 15.6-inch LED backlit display which features an 1366 x 768 HD resolution.

It’s also powered by the ultra-fast 3.1Ghz 4th Generation Intel Core i7-4510U processor, with a whopping 8GB of RAM ensuring that multi-tasking is not a problem on this laptop.

You’ll need to know that this laptop is suitable for 3D gaming on low settings thanks to the slightly improved Intel HD Graphics 4400. It’s not as good as the Intel HD 4600 chipset which we talked about with this HP Envy laptop, but it’s certainly better than the standard Intel HD 4000 graphics.

Rounding out the features on this model are an HD web camera, HDMI port, 2 USB 3.0 ports, 1TB hard drive, Bluetooth 4.0 and a copy of Windows 8.1 64-bit.

Meanwhile the Dell Inspiron 17.3-inch 5000 Series laptop specs are similar, but depend on what configuration you want to buy. The most popular of which comes with an Intel Core i5 processor instead, but you get the same 8GB of RAM, Intel HD 4400 graphics, 1TB hard drive and HD Webcam.

The biggest difference between the two that we can see, is the fact that the Dell Inspiron 17 5000 comes with a DVD drive, but the Dell Inspiron 15 5000 does not – make sure you are aware of this fact if you are currently weighing up your options.

For those that are thinking of a purchase for either model, make sure you check out a Dell Inspiron 15 5000 Series review page here and the Dell Inspiron 17 5000 laptop review page here – the feedback from other buyers is towards the bottom of the page.

Are you impressed with what Dell are offering here? Let us know your thoughts on both models and whether you think it is essential to still have a DVD drive.

Is the 15.6-inch model more desirable with a Core i7 chip under the hood? Tell us the best Dell Inspiron 17 and 15 5000 laptop prices that you have seen so far online.
