Dell Flash with Android 2.2 or Verizon iPhone 4G in 2011?

Well today’s events has definitely taken us by surprise. While most of us would be happy with just ‘one’ huge phone leak, we had a collection of leaks – all to do with Dell and their upcoming range of smartphones.

We know now that Dell are planning to release no fewer than four handsets – which you can read about in more detail here. While the Dell Lightning and its Windows Phone 7 features look very nice, I’m more interested in the Dell Flash and Android 2.2 Froyo.

We haven’t heard too much about Google’s next big update to Android, particularly since they are still working hard on rolling out 2.1 to the current crop of handsets.

The Dell Flash will be due out sometime in 2011, which also may be around the time when Verizon finally get their iPhone. We know Apple are considering the idea, since Verizon gave them the green light to go ahead a few months ago.

Could the Dell Flash, Android 2.2 and their ‘Stage UI’ have enough strength to take on say a Verizon iPhone though? The iPhone on big red’s network still remains the handset which Verizon owners are craving for – despite the upcoming arrival of the Droid Incredible.

Firstly, what are your thoughts on the Flash? It has only been detailed today, but are you already thinking of picking one up in 2011?
