We’ve been reporting on car recalls for a while now, but we have had a huge response from readers asking what about other product recalls. It is for this reason why we will now start to look at different products, with toys being the first.
One of the latest baby toy recalls for 2013 is the Cuddly zebra, although this was first announced at the start of the month. However, we thought it was important to mention this because it is something that relatives could have put by ready to give to a baby for Christmas, or they could already have one and put then in their mouth.
There is a fear that a select few Start Your Senses Zebras could cause cancer, and so several stores have been asked to destroy them immediately. UK stores such as Asda, Tesco and Motehrcare have all issued a recall for the baby toys, and so you are asked to return them to the store you purchased them from straightway.
The Start Your Senses Zebras affected by this recall will have the letter Q and then a four-digit number after it on the label. The reason behind the cancer scare is due to the fact these toys contain the chemical 4-aminoazobenzene, which can be better explained here.
Remember, take the toy away from your child right away and then go back to the store for a full refund. If not you can post it to Kids II UK LTD, 725 Capability Green, Luton Bedfordshire LU1 3LU, along with your name, address and the label that has the product code on it.
