Corvette Stingray demand sees $25k price rise for C7

A few months back we looked into how some dealers were going to markup the 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray over its retail value, and as you would imagine did not go down well with those hoping to get their hands on one. Now the C7 has become available we are shocked at just how high some of the markups are, with one being $25k over the MSRP.

Even before the Corvette Stingray 2014 release date arrived there were already fears that the demand would be very high, and strained GM production meant only some dealers were going to offer the C7 to customers. Supply and demand is a gray area and even though some of you will complain to General Motors, it is the dealers who should come under fire.

Having said that, they are not forcing you to purchase the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, and if you are willing to pay over the top, then good luck to you — although we think you have a few issues, as you could think about another car if you have an extra $25,000 to spare.

It is nothing new to see a car marked up, and with the popularity of the C7 is comes as no real shock, but that price makes it around a third on top of the MSRP. Having said that, the report does say this was for the Corvette Stingray with the Z51 package, although that is only around $3,000 on top of the standard price.

This has become a popular choice because 75 percent of the C7 orders include the Z51 performance package. We can understand why this is, because the 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray reviews have been very positive about this added extra, as it helps to improve the performance specs by a considerable amount.
