Cooliris has already seen great success with its photo sharing app, and so felt the time was right to move into messaging with its latest app, BeamIt. We are not surprised to see Cooliris branch into messaging seeing as though this features was brought in very slowly to its photo-sharing app.
One of the main reasons why the BeamIt app was released on iOS is because its main app started to feel a little bloated and would have only got worse in time. So what is the new dedicated messaging app like?
What makes BeamIt different to the likes of WhatsApp is how it centers on photos rather than texts because conversations are started and grown around photos you share. However, looking at this app it does seem to be a bit clunky in terms of its layout, although we are sure this will be tweaked and improved in time — if the app proves popular.
This could very well take off because I have seen for myself just how much interest a funny pic sparks, and before long you have a huge number of comments and likes, so a specialist app could prove popular.
There does seem to be a bit of an issue when it comes to liking and commenting on a photo, as you have to long press it, which can become tiresome. Why not check the app out for yourself and see what you think, and how it can be improved.
