On July 15, 2011 we reported on a new game coming to the Nintendo 3DS called Cooking Mama 4, we did not have much to go on, but more details have now been made available to us. The official title of the game is Cooking Mama 4: Kitchen Magic, and we also have what we believe to be a solid release date, along with an added bonus.
In the official press release it states that the game will be released in October, and by doing a little digging on GameStop that date looks to be October the 18th. The price will be $39.99, but then there is that added bonus for when you pre-order a copy of the game. Because this is the first time that the franchise has come to the 3DS, you will be given a free plush Mama doll.
We seem to see more pre-order offers these days, such as with Battlefield 3 and its free DLCs, which we mentioned earlier. This is not a deal that all retailers are doing, just one that Majesco and GameStop have running for the moment. As with all offers this will only run for a limited time, so you had best get your pre-order in soon.
We already covered the basics of the game, but we now have more to add. There will be 60 recipes to cook, and remember that you are against the clock. It is not all fun though, as you will work alongside Mama to create some amazing recipes. The only downside is that your family or friends will have to be official food tasters, which could go either way — depending on how good you are.
The Mama franchise grows with each game released, and Cooking Mama 4: Kitchen Magic will just add to the 8.5 million copies already sold. For those of you who do not have a Nintendo 3DS, then you will be happy to know that you can also install Cooking Mama on your iOS device. The price is just $6.99 and was updated in June 2011, more details on iTunes.
We do not know how different this 3D version will be like, but we do not expect there to be too many changes. However, the developer will add one or two new features to utilize the new hardware and the biggest feature of all — 3D. It will be interesting to know what recipes they will include in this game, we know that there are thousands of recipes out there, but most of them will not be practical for a game such as this?
