Comcast Outage: Internet Down – Temporary Fix Works?

If you are a Comcast subscriber in the US, you are probably pulling your hair out as it has been confirmed that the internet service has encountered a collection of problems, resulting in outages for a lot of consumers during the last few hours.

It has been picked up by Engadget, who have narrowed the outrage down to customers in the Boston area, as well as customers who live in the Eastern parts of the US.

Comcast has already addressed the outrage as ‘unexpected’ and are obvioulsy working hard to get the situation fixed up as soon as possible. Luckily, there appears to be a temporary fix if you find yourself being constantly disconnected, as Engadget states that trying Google’s DNS servers at 8.8.4.4. and 8.8.8.8 may correct the problem, whilst Comcast get their act together.

If you are reading this from your mobile and are currently disconnected on Comcast, try the method above and let us know if it works for you.
