Classic Broken Sword Games: Now available for Mac

Originally released in 1996 the Broken Sword adventure game series was seen by many as the best point and click games ever made. Now the classic series is available for Mac users to enjoy. has announced today the release of Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templar’s-Director’s Cut and Broken Sword II: The Smoking Mirror. The games are a globetrotting adventure involving conspiracies, cults and murder, all around the Knights Templar.

Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templar’s was first released in September 1996 by Virgin Interactive Entertainment. The story follows an American tourist enjoying a quiet coffee in Paris, which is interrupted by a bomb which was planted by someone dressed as a clown. He then goes off to solve the crime.

Broken Sword II: The Smoking Mirror was released the following year and follows the same character that this time has to rescue his kidnapped girlfriend. He uncovers a secret drug ring which relates to the redemption of a sinister Mayan god. This was the only game in the series not to follow the Knights Templar story line.
