Chucky returns as Child’s Play based video game is announced

Growing up there were few things that scared me as a kid, having been exposed to horror movies from an early age. One horror movie in particular that stood out among the rest as one of the creepiest for me has got to be Child’s Play. It is a horror classic from 1988 and it has now been announced that Chucky will be back, but this time in a Child’s Play based video game.

TikGames are the developers hoping to take on the duty of delivering this game and are promising a gory but entertaining interactive experience. The game will be based on Chucky, the killer doll at the center of each episode of the Child’s Play saga. For those that aren’t familiar with the movie, it is the story about a serial killer, Charles Lee Ray, who to save himself from dying, transfers his soul into a doll.

According to Play Tribune, the game will be stealth based where players get to decide how many victims there will be. TikGames’ Co-founder and Vice President of Publishing, Alex Tikman, stated that the company is ‘proud to be able to bring a fan-favorite movie character, such as Chucky, to gaming platforms.’ The developers are more known for making smaller title games for Xbox Live Arcade and PC which gives us an idea of what sort of game we can expect this to be.

Having recently brought you news about titles that are set to be transformed from games into movies, it is a nice change to see a classic movie turned into a game. The Xbox 360 exclusive FPS hit, Halo is the latest game of this sort which is expected to be directed by Steven Spielberg and released next year. We also brought you news that Lionsgate had snapped up the rights to make the movie of Dead Island.

Are you glad to see a Chucky game in development?
