Chrysler Vehicle Recalls: 2008 and 2009 Minivan

We are only halfway through 2010 and already Chrysler has issued its second recall on its minivans. The NHTSA reports that this recall affects 284,831 2008 and 2009 Town and Country and Dodge Caravans due to a potential fire hazard.

Some may suffer from a poorly fitted wire harness, in some cases the sliding door can make contact with the wire and strip the insulation — this could then cause the wire to short circuit, over heat or in some cases catch fire. This is certainly a cause for concern.

Those vans affected by this recall were made between February and September 2007, if you own one of these then you are advised to contact your local Chrysler dealer immediately where they will then discuss when you can take your minivan In for its free repair.

It seems that almost every week a new recall is being announced on a vehicle, surly it is time that something is done about? Chris Shunk from Autoblog received this new from a press release.
