We mentioned this morning that Chrysler issued a recall on 15,295 of its minivan range, now there is yet another Chrysler recall, which affects 28,976 Jeep Wranglers. These recalls are for Canada and add up to almost 44,000, both have different faults.
The minivans mentioned earlier could catch fire due to poorly routed wires near the sliding door; the Jeep Wrangler has a brake fault and only applies to those made between 2007 and 2010. According to Carmen Chai who has written an article on the Montreal Gazette, these vehicles could leak brake fluid — resulting in brake failure.
The reason for this is that the fasteners that hold the lining of the inner-fender lining can work its way loose and then rub against the brake line and wear the plastic away. Chrysler has informed the NHTSA who have been working in conjunction with each other on the recall.
