Chromecast aided by Vudu streaming

Google’s Chromecast is being aided by the addition of Vudu streaming which is coming soon. Vudu has also announced on their blog that they are taking applications from beta testers for their Chromecast expansion.

The movies and TV shows streaming giant will release an update to their apps and services in the near future so that users can stream their content via Chromecast to all compatible smart TVs. Vudu has highlighted that the community asked and they listened, offering this Chromecast functionality as a result of customer demand.

Right now Vudu provide access to their content on PC, Mac, tablet and smartphone, by supporting Chromecast you can add your TV to this lineup with no other device or cable required. Users need to simply insert Chromecast into the HDMI port of the TV, connect the dongle to the same Wi-Fi network as the one one feeding Vudu and from there you can stream your film or TV show over wirelessly.

Vudu has not given a time frame for their Chromecast update release, they have recommended that interested people check back regularly for news however. Given that Vudu for Chromecast will be beta tested first, it could be assumed that we might be waiting a few months for the service.

Have you been wanting to use your Chromecast device to stream Vudu content and are you pleased it is now on the way?
