Canon EOS 1D X MK II specs not groundbreaking

Nikon already announced its 1DX equivalent, and now we have the Canon did 1DX II, and so we have to say that the latter certainly has the advantage. Although, before you get over excited, the specs are nothing groundbreaking, and so some of you will wonder if you will even need to make that upgrade.

We did assume that the EOS 1D X MK II release date would be this month, but seeing as though we are just days away from entering a new month, it does seem highly unlikely. Based on current projections, February or March is now looking more likely.

New images of the updated Canon EOS 1D X have now leaked and you will be pleased to know that the body will be water and dust resistant, offering even more opportunity to take photos in varied weather conditions.

A list of the main Canon EOS 1D X MK II specs:

  • At f/8, 61 points can be selected
  • Continuous shooting up to 16 fps (live view mode)

We know that some of you will wonder why such a camera does not have a tiltable screen, although we do feel that most pro users do not care about such things, or are we wrong about that assumption?

One thing we do find impressive though is the 60fps at 4k, which does seem to be one of the better features. Let’s hope we do hear news on its release soon, but for now check out more images from Digicame-info.
