Canon 70D production image quality and AF performance

When we learned of the Canon 70D launch it was not long after that when some lucky people were sent pre-production units to test. However, with the 70D now available to purchase it is nice to see final production reviews now starting to hit the Internet.

Having already pitted the Canon 70D against the 7D and also the Nikon D7100, it is time to see how the 70D performs in terms of image quality and AF performance, and this is just what The Camera Store has been getting up to in their latest video.

The Canon 70D production unit gives us a chance to see just what the camera has to offer by being put through its paces, and while the review does not focus on everything, we do get to see image quality, resolution, dynamic range and see how those features compare to the Nikon D7100.

We may have already seen these two cameras pitted against each other, but this was for the pre-production 70D, and so the results could be very different. Having been used to Blunty’s way of reviewing things we were not sure how to take Chris Niccolls from The Camera Store. However, we like his way of getting his point across because he is filled with energy, something that makes for a great reviewer.

If you thought some of the shots being taken in this video were good, then you are in for a treat because Mike Drew pops up to share his thoughts. Overall, it is clear this could be an ultimate all-in-one camera, but the lack of headphone jack for video. Having said that, the 70D will still be a winner because of all those great features.
