Many of the past Call of Duty games have been put on special offer in the PS Store, exclusively in the US. This deal will be especially beneficial to new PS4 owners who want to download the older COD titles at a preferential price. All of the Modern Warfare and Black Ops games are included in this limited time promotion.
The US PlayStation Store is being updated today, with the sale being introduced as a bonus to celebrate the upgrade. This COD discounts will last for a week, afterwards the digital games will all return to their previous prices. CVG reports that Towerfall Ascension, Ethan: Meteor Hunter and Vessel have also been included into the promotion besides the Call of Duty games.
All 3 of Infinity Ward’s titles have been bundled with DLC content and slashed, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has been reduced to $17.99, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has also gone down to $17.99, with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 now being priced at $26.99. All 3 titles can be bought in one mega bundle which is selling on the PS Store for $58.49, discounted from $64.99.
Treyarch’s Black Ops series has got the same treatment, with the original game bundled with the First Strike DLC being sold for $31.49. Black Ops 2 with the complete season pass bundle has been cut down to $53.99, or $35.99 if you would like the game with only the Revolution map pack. The Black Ops complete bundle is selling for $67.49, both games with their first DLC drops can be downloaded for $62.99.
There are savings to be made across the board here for players who want to download previous Call of Duty games for a cheaper digital price. It does not look like Ghosts has been included in this promotion but it may well be added at a later date. This sale has come conveniently just before Titanfall’s big launch, are Sony looking to distract a few would be players with cheaper COD content?
