Call of Duty Ghosts PS4 1080p Ad needed to go global

Although some of you still refuse to believe it, it has now been confirmed that the Xbox One version of Call of Duty Ghosts is only 720p, compared to the PS4 version of the same game that will output with a native 1080p resolution.

As you can imagine, this is a massive deal for some gamers who are clued-up with all the technical aspects of a game. It also appears to be something of a coup for Sony and we now have evidence that the company couldn’t hide their delight any longer.

It has been spotted that Sony Germany were actually advertising the fact that their PS4 version of the game will run at 1080p native. It doesn’t take a genius to work out that the timing of the image you see above that was posted to the company’s Facebook page, was published in direct response to the outcry involving the Xbox One 720p fact.

For some reason, Sony has now decided to remove the image completely and all traces of it. Was it in bad taste though, to simply advertise their version of the game? The banner featured no mention of Microsoft whatsoever and surely if their version of the game has an advantage over Microsoft’s, they should be proud of this fact right?

After all, we have seen countless statements from Microsoft this week reminding us that Titanfall will now no longer be coming to any Sony platform in the future. Either way though, Sony has perhaps decided that diplomacy is the best option here, regardless of how happy they may be feeling.

Did you see the banner before it was removed? If so, do you agree that Sony should be advertising this more, as a heads-up for consumers that aren’t aware of the 1080p native advantage?
