BT broadband either slow or down today

BT broadband is either very slow or down today, according to official reports on the service status UK page. The ongoing issue is related to a loss of broadband and telephone services, which was first reported on Saturday at 00:16 and continues to be a problem for users trying to access Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other popular websites leaving people thinking they’re down right now.

On the service status page it explains “a small number of users” are seeing these issues, although this includes one of the Product Reviews team working in Kent, UK. Their telephone line is fine, but broadband services are going very slow with even Google’s normally fast search engine loading extremely slow or even breaking to a “cannot connect” page. This then asks you to check your local networking, although jumping on a mobile reveals everything is working fine on cellular.

It is currently not clear why the service has run into problems again, which follows massive issues a couple of weeks ago with BT not working and causing Twitter users to think that social network had issues.

Update: There’s a number of areas listed that apparently have slow BT broadband or even a total outage. These include Shaftesbury, Ipstones, Portsmouth, Northbourne, Fareham, Tottington, Leiston, Broadchalke, and a few other areas.

Do you have issues in your town, if so feel free to leave a comment with your area? We’ve had reports of BT broadband being down today or very slow in Broadstairs and Margate as well, although this hasn’t been confirmed officially yet.
