Shanda Games has partnered with 2K China to release Borderlands Online with a MMORPG that is only for the Chinese market at this time. It’s unclear when the game will release in the West, although gamers have already voiced their disappointment in the UK and USA.
Players can sign up right now in China for the Borderlands Online beta, but it’s not clear when this will start and only a lucky number of people will be involved.
Borderlands Online will expand this game into the MMORPG genre with new classes. You can see some screenshots on this page, which we took from the Chinese website at act.blol.sdo.com. This is also where you can sign up for the beta.
As one Product Reviews reader said, “I really hope Borderlands Online releases in the west, of course that’s only if the game delivers”. Would you be interested in taking part with the Borderlands Online beta and if so, would you also like to see the online version launch in the West?
