Here is some exciting news for those who want to experience car sharing in a larger car. BMW has announced their own version of car sharing service called DriveNow.
The service offers the easy renting of cars and is listed as premium, although the top flight BMW cars will not feature on the service. Cars like the i3 are expected to feature with the 1 Series and Minis making up the initial fleet of 300 cars available.
The news comes from an article by Tim Stevens at Engadget which explains how details on usage of the car sharing service are still a little scarce. Each car included in the service will feature a Dell Streak integrated into the dashboard.
Users will be able to login to these devices once they have been equipped with their endowed driver license or RFID membership car. To rent it will cost just €14.90 an hour or €0.29 a minute. As of now the service is only available in Munich, Germany.
The company aim to have one million members subscribed to their DriveNow service by 2020 around the globe.
