The results of a recent survey shows that BlackBerry Verizon owners still covet the iPhone, you would have thought that this would have stopped by now — well it has been three years since Apple launched into the smartphone market. So owners of these RIM handsets still crave for more?
RIM thought that the iPhone would not bother them, as it was more for the consumer rather than business as Blackberry handsets are. However, they were wrong and knew that business users were starting to take ownership of these new touchscreen smartphones.
RIM knew they had to act, which is where the Blackberry Storm and Storm 2 comes in. RIM tried to offer its users a touch interface like Apple does with its iPhone, but we all now about the problems those handsets had. It seemed that no matter what RIM did, Verizon customers would not get an iPhone alternative.
There are those who have an iPhone on AT&T for personal use and then a BlackBerry on Verizon for work — that way they will always have a signal. Verizon customers do have more choice now with Android handsets, but that still does not stop those with a BlackBerry wanting an iPhone.
