BlackBerry PlayBook Video Shows BBM / BlackBerry Messenger

Yesterday was a massive day for Research in Motion, not only did they unveil the new BlackBerry Bold 9900 / 9930 and their new OS which they called BlackBerry 7 but they also showed us BlackBerry Messenger for the PlayBook

Engadget were lucky enough to meet the senior product manager for the PlayBook, he showed BBM running on your PlayBook over the BlackBerry Bridge, this basically means that the PlayBook pulls your contacts and conversations wirelessly from your BlackBerry smartphone to the PlayBook.

The application itself loads up quickly and considering the fact that it communicates with your BlackBerry in real-time there is no lag, also the app has an intuitive layout whether it is in landscape mode or portrait mode.

One limitation at the moment is the fact that it relies on your BlackBerry smartphone, we can reveal that BBM will hit the PlayBook in the summer where it won’t require the BlackBerry Bridge for it to work, instead it will be centric to the tablet.

Check out the video for yourself below, do you like the look of BBM for the PlayBook?
