BlackBerry PlayBook OS List of Changes

Recently RIM launched a new OS update for the BlackBerry PlayBook, this brings your PlayBook to OS version and with it comes lots of new features and improvements.

Let’s start with a quick how to guide just in case you are struggling to update your PlayBook, firstly you must open the PlayBook’s settings page, to do this simply swipe down from the top of the home screen and it will appear, here you will have lots of categories on the left hand side, simply click on “Software Update” and then choose “Check for Updates”, now as long as you have an active internet connection it should download the latest OS build.

Once installed you will have access to video chat, BBM via the BlackBerry Bridge (see this post for further details), document editing via the Bridge and photo sharing via the bridge. Another neat feature allows you to add browser bookmarks to your homescreen, this allows quicker access to your favorite websites.

Lots of the changes are under the hood and relate to the BlackBerry Bridge, there will undoubtedly be some stability and security fixes thrown in to, install the new OS for yourself and let us know how it went in the comments section below.
