BlackBerry PlayBook Features the 7digital Music Store on Launch

With the BlackBerry Playbook set for release this month, RIM has today announced that they will partner up with 7digital to bring you the 7digital Music Store pre-installed with your Playbook when the tablet launches in the US, with further rollout internationally in 2011.

7digital is a high-quality online digital music store that houses over 13 million 320kbs high quality MP3’s, and with it now coming pre-loaded on BlackBerry Playbook’s, users can use it to search for albums and tracks, preview the selection, and get recommendations before deciding to make a purchase.

The venture between 7digital and RIM could be seen as a direct source of competition to compete with the Apple iPad and iTunes, which as we all know is a very popular service used by millions, even if you don’t own an iPod, iPhone or iPad.

7digital could compliment the BlackBerry Playbook in such a way that it could convince users to switch from iTunes to 7digital, but we wont know for sure until we see it in action. The 7digital application is set to be previewed this week at the South by South West conference in Austin, Texas.

With RIM now establishing a foothold in the world of digital music, the BlackBerry could storm right up there with the best partner-provider in digital music, alongside iTunes of course. Will this be enough for you to purchase a Playbook, or does it make your already-confirmed purchase decision that much easier?
