BlackBerry OS 6.0: Release Date confirmed for Q3 2010

We have some great news for those of you who are looking forward to the release of BlackBerry OS 6.0, as RIM co-CEO Mike Lazardis has revealed that the next edition of their operating system will be available sometime in Q3 of this year.

As reported from Apple Insider, Lazardis revealed the news during an analyst call yesterday. We have also learned that BlackBerry OS 6.0 will be rolled out to both touchscreen handsets and non-touchscreen handsets.

Furthermore, you’ll be pleased to know that RIM are ‘eventually’ planning to upgrade all handsets to OS 6.0, but there will be a few exceptions as you can imagine. It remains to be seen how long these updates to OS 6.0 will take though.

Does the news about OS 6.0 landing before the end of the year change your mind about what handset to pick up? Let us know your thoughts on this.
