Black Ops 2 Nuketown 24/7 back for DoubleXP event

Following on from the earlier news that a new feature is coming to Die Rise zombies as part of the Revolution DLC map pack for Black Ops 2, we have a confirmation that another Black Ops 2 Double XP weekend event will be taking place at the end of the week. More importantly though, it also means that for a few days only, the highly popular Nuketown 24/7 playlist will be back giving you a chance to reach a few more prestige levels far more quicker than usual.

As most of you are aware, Treyarch caused considerable frustration when they removed the 24/7 Nuketown multiplayer playlist from the game, and replaced it with the Chaos Moshpit, which included Nuketown 2025 in a selection of other varied maps. It’s no secret that players want the Nuketown 24/7 playlist to come back permanently, but for now it looks like it’s going to be for special events only.

Double XP is coming again this weekend though and it’s usually well appreciated by the community. The updated playlists will start on January 25th at 10am pacific time and will run through until January 28th at the same 10am time. The event is to coincide with the release of Nuketown Zombies for PS3 and PC Season Pass holders, so throwing in the Nuketown 2025 24/7 playlist is a very nice bonus on top.

It seems odd that Treyarch want to restrict the most popular playlist in the game, but then again maybe they don’t want everyone to be maxing out prestige too quick, which would obviously happen if Nuketown 24/7 was available non-stop. It is nice to keep it for special events, while we’d also like to see more specialist playlists announced in the coming months as well.

Do you participate in every Black Ops 2 Double XP weekend? Would you like to see Nuketown 24/7 stay permanently, or do you agree that it is good to limit it?
