Black Ops 2 Double XP weekend gets extended

We have some great news for those of you who are currently enjoying a Double XP weekend on Black Ops 2. It gets even better for you now, as we can confirm that Treyarch has decided to extend it further. You’ll now be able to rack up the extra points for an extra day, with the event now ending on Tuesday instead of Monday.

It’s also nice to see that the Double XP playlists are also live on all platforms of the game as well. That means if you are playing on Wii U, Xbox 360, PS3 or PC, double XP is still live so now really is the perfect opportunity to reach that next level of prestige.

As confirmed over on Twitter, double XP playlists will now be active until Tuesday 10AM, Pacific Time. It gives you plenty of time to enjoy the extra XP, while for Xbox 360 owners specifically – further time to enjoy the event while they wait for the exciting Uprising DLC map pack to arrive on the same day.

Mob of the Dead zombies is going live very soon indeed and by the end of the week, we should see gameplay videos popping up from those who have already managed to crack the easter egg secrets. For those playing on PS3 and PC, the Uprising pack will again be available one month later due to Microsoft’s ongoing exclusivity agreement with Activision.

It’s still a bleak situation on Wii U however, with no confirmation at all on whether any post-release DLC is coming to Nintendo’s console or not. If you haven’t been playing Black Ops 2 over the weekend and have missed all of the extra XP, at least Treyarch has given you an extra day to get cracking.
