Black Ops 2 Buried zombies hype with Ray Gun Mark 2

The new Buried zombies map for the Black Ops 2 Vengeance DLC map isn’t due to go live until later this week on Xbox 360. However, Treyarch recently deployed a new patch for the game and with it, accidental early access to the bonus zombie weapon, the Ray Gun Mark II. Luckily for you, we now have some gameplay of the new weapon to show you, including what the name of the weapon is when using the pack a punch machine.

That means yes, the new Ray Gun Mark II is also eligible for upgrade using the pack a punch machine. Don’t forget the very pleasing fact that this new weapon will also be available in every other Black Ops 2 zombie map as well, not just Buried. We’re not sure how players managed to get their hands on the weapon early, but it looks like Treyarch has already spotted their error and have made changes.

For those that did manage to play with the Ray Gun Mark II early though, you’ll see some gameplay footage of this above. We can now confirm that when placing the new weapon inside the pack a punch machine, you’ll receive the Porter’s Mark II Ray Gun in return. Like the Porter’s X2 Ray Gun before it, you’ll then be able to fire more powerful red bullets, instead of the traditional green.

It also looks like the Mark II features a three bullet burst with each ammo fired, and although not confirmed – it looks like each shot has the ability to take down multiple zombies in a line as well. You’ll also notice that the appearance when pack a punched looks a lot like the traditional Ray Gun design, which is a nice touch by Treyarch.

Check out the early footage above and let us know if you managed to get some early rounds in with the Ray Gun Mark II or the Porter’s Mark II Ray Gun. Is it your new favorite weapon?
