BF3 Premium double XP event good, but better treats needed

We have even more good news on the way for Battlefield 3 owners now. After splashing out on a debatable $50 for Battlefield Premium, you’ll be pleased to hear that DICE has now released plans for their first ‘premium only’ event that will take place this weekend.

In somewhat disappointing fashion though, it turns out that all it is going to be is another double XP weekend. If you play the game regularly, you’ll know that DICE has just finished up on a double XP weekend to celebrate the launch of the Close Quarters expansion.

However, this premium only event will give experienced Battlefield 3 players an even bigger chance of reaching that golden 100 colonel level. We found that playing during the double xp weekend a few days ago, dramatically decreases the time needed to level up. We jumped up a few levels in no time, with the double XP modes on Conquest giving out regular scores of over 10,000 a round for players with a decent skill level.

The premium only event will be starting on Saturday June 23 at 7:01 Pacific Time and will be active all the way through to Monday June 25 at 06.59 Pacific Time. Just like the last double XP weekend, the bonus points are active on all game modes, maps and expansions, so it doesn’t matter if you are playing the standard maps, Back to Karkand or Close Quarters.

While this double XP weekend is a nice starter for premium members, we would like to see some more creativity from DICE for future events. Maybe they can set up a little tournament for Gun Master, in which the top placed Gun Masters in different regions will win certain prizes.

That’s just an idea anyway. If you are a Battlefield Premium member and are still deciding whether or not your package is worth it – let us know what premium only events you would like to see next.
