Best Japanese Cars For 2011

When asked what is the best Japanese car to purchase this year it is a question that is very hard to answer; the reason being that there are always a huge number of factors to consider. I am talking about do you want a standard car, a hybrid, EV, SUV, CUV etc. However one-fact still remains, it will be Toyota that will be purchased the most, which I still find astounding considering all the recent recalls.

Having said that sales of Japanese cars have fallen over the past seven years, and according to AFP a recent study suggests that these sales have now only just started to increase. Even though the Toyota Prius has had a poor safety record, which sparked off a huge recall there is no getting away from the fact that sales have been increasing — being the top selling car in Japan is proof of that.

So we know that when it comes to Japanese hybrid vehicles the Prius cannot be beat, but Nissan believes that they can become the top brand when it comes to electric vehicles with the Leaf. This vehicle has only been available for less than a month, and early signs look good, but the true test will come when the environmentally friendly car goes on sale in Europe and the UK early this year.

According to a report from Kicking Tires 5 Japanese vehicles took the top ten spot for the best selling vehicles in December 2010, these were the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Honda Civic, Honda CR-V, and the Nissan Altima. It is hard to know how well these cars will sell this month and the following months, but one would expect that pattern to continue.

What Japanese Car do you think will sell well in 2011?
