Beautiful production cars and the top 10 fastest

Within the last week we looked at what production cars we could see as future vintage models, which you can read about in this article if you missed it. Today we wanted to look at some of the most beautiful production cars and which of these are the fastest in the world. We’ve found a few sources for you to look at, although some contradict each other a little.

First up is a video that you can see below this post; the YouTube clip looks at what it claims to be the OFFICIAL top 10 fastest production cars. With a quick look at the comments on the YouTube page you’ll find that there is a little confusion with the different top speeds of each car in the video. Some people made it clear that all of the cars are production cars, stating that some of them are just tuned, while other viewers feel that top speeds are not possible especially when you consider a statement from the Guinness World Records. One user stated the rules say if a car is limited to a speed, then this is the top speed of that car. Watch the video below this post and make up your own mind.

An old article on VCARS points to what they feel are the fastest production cars of all time, listing 10-models that start with the 2004 Bugatti Veyron at 252.2 MPH and 1001 BHP, which is followed by the 2006 Koenigsegg CCX at 250 MPH and 900 BHP, and in third the 2005 Saleen S7 at 248 MPH and 750 BHP. See the full list here, but remember this list is a few years old now.

You can compare that list to one produced in 2011 by The Super Cars. In this article the top spot goes to the new 2010 Super Sport version of the Bugatti Veyron. Priced at $1,700,000 for the base price and $2,400,000 for the Super Sport, running at 267 mph and at 0-60 in 2.5 seconds.

With a twin turbo 5.0-liter V8 Engine is the second place Koenigsegg Agera R, which reportedly has 1099hp and does 0-60 in 2.8 seconds with a top speed of 260 mph. You can look to spend $1,600,000 on the base model, although for more money you could include winter tires and a Ski Box if snow is your thing. Third place on this updated list goes to the $654,400 SSC Ultimate Aero, which has a top speed of 257 mph and does 0-60 in 2.7 seconds.

Check out the full list here, and let us know what you think of these beautiful production cars.
