BBM Android release date soon say Samsung

Now that we are well into summer some of you might be wondering when the BBM for Android and iPhone release date will be? Considering summer ends next month, it seems that we will all find out very soon but today we hear one area of the world might get it before others.

The BBM for Android release date will be very “soon” say Samsung, but this claim is being widely reported by Samsung Africa. We have seen some parts of T-Mobile and Samsung jump the gun before, and then correct themselves at a later date, so take this claim with a pinch of salt until BlackBerry reveal a launch rollout themselves.

What we are hearing from widespread reports — it seems that Samsung Africa explain the Samsung Messenger Hub will include the new BBM app, although they fail to give an exact release date in their revelation. They do point towards their part of the world receiving the app first, so this might be one way for BlackBerry to test things with an initial smaller public rollout at first (if true).

We also hear that BBM for Android will release with Groups of up to 30 people and to include BBM chats. Teenagers and businesses love the BBM app in the UK and we have noted previously how schools are “buzzing” about the BBM app landing on iOS and Android. The popularity is clear, although we can’t wait to see how BlackBerry plan to earn an income from the app as well and if this would include add-on services.

What platform do you really want to use BlackBerry Messenger on? You can also sign up for official release confirmation directly on the BlackBerry website, and a screenshot of this “BBM is coming to Android and iPhone” notification form can be seen above on this page.
